How does a planet many, “buzz” light-years away and a big cat get paired together to form a brand of car? It makes no sense. Maybe if the car could speed through the turns at the speed of light. Or maybe if the car could not spin out at the slightest amount of ice then this would make sense. To call the 80’s cars a Cougar is a big insult to the cars of the 60’s bearing the same name.
This emblem was off of a Cougar we owned for a bit before it fell apart faster than Paula Deen’s career. Our dull gold painted Cougar acted as a tease to challenge myself, then as a young driver, to tame the beast on icy conditions. The slightest amount of acceleration sent the poor smudge of a car spinning wildly. Why Mercury did you make this car? Just why?
